    2. 'Korean students least happy in OECD'

    3. This is a tragic story. The happiness of the students is deeply related with their family members and friends. However, being a student in Korea is far from those things. If you are a student in Korea, you spend days only for studying. There is no time to go out and have a dinner outside at a restaurant with your family or friends. Instead, you have dinner for 5 minutes at an educational institutions. All the Korean students are under strong pressure for studying. But, this only brings conflicts between family and friends in the society because they are never able to share their lives and get relaxed. Of course, studying is important for students. It is their first priority and the responsibility. But, it is not everything. They have a right to enjoy their lives, too. If students in Korea can have more free time to relax, it would bring positive effects for sure. Bringing positive effects means students would be able to study even harder as they would get motivated from increased satisfaction in their lives.

4.After polling 6,410 elementary, middle and high school students across the country, the Korea Bang Jeong-hwan Foundation and the Social Development Institute at Yonsei University said Korea’s “subject” happiness index came to 65.98 points in 2011, the lowest among 23 OECD member countries for the third year in a row. Korea scored 65.1 points in 2010 and 64.3 in 2009.

    2. How to react the beggars
3.As one part of the society, the beggars are living a life that we cannot imagine, maybe they hate the life but no choice, maybe they think it`s a good way to make a living, simply and easily. No matter what situation, the beggars are the weak group of our society, they need to help, not only economic help, but also conscious help.
Yesterday I went out to travel in Seoul and I see two beggars in the subway, who are old, weak, but neat, using sad music to attract people`s attention. When they passed through my seat, my heart shake a little, but I don`t know how to do. Should we give some money to them? As a foreigner, I prefer to see the Korean people`s reaction first. However, about one or two minutes in our car, the beggar got nothing. I don`t know why, but in made me think about the Chinese beggar, also the weakest group in society.
    ---------------------------
In the old days, there are some beggars in city and village, but not as many as day. Especially the21 century, there are more and more people take beggar as a career and using the begged money make a living, even build their house in their hometown. Yes, the professional beggars are very common in China, who live a life started at 9 o`clock, finished at 5 o`clock, using the disability of disabled persons, old, weak to change the sympathy of nomal people. Besides, some of the beggars are not begging by themselves, but they are controlled by the beg group. The beg group take advantage of people`s sympathy for weak people make money, and enjoy the life.

    4. Some people hate the beggars because they don`t make money by their ability and depend too much to the others. Although they are poor and weak , we should not help them to have this habit? Some people claim that we should try to help them and promote the condition of their poor life.
In my opinion, the reasons why the beggars are so common in society are complicated. It relates to the social problem, such as the inequality of society, the huge gap of incomes, the unsound of the social system, especially the insurance system, the raising price of goods, the raising rates of unemployment. What we should do are not only give the beggars money, but also help them change their living behaviors. Giving them money can only help them solve the problem in the short time, but in they long run, we need do something more to improve the condition.

2.Amnesty slams Egypt for forced 'virginity tests'
3.This article is about the inequality of woman right.
From the history, the power in the family, town, and
country is mostly focused on the man because basically there are physical things. Man has more muscular things in their body, so it has more advantages on doing something such as hunting. At the same time, woman had been lost their right due to this reason. I mean, from the history, woman was used to satisfy the desire for man such as sex. Considering the Greece history, there are several battles for woman. I think the woman is the symbol of the power from the long time as same as money. I think on that this article is related to the instinct for man. How we can solve the problems? Although the equality of both right is going to be more same than before, even now there are not much small cases in some countries. I believe that going to the better world for everyone, this equality should be made and developed for humankind.
    4. "Women and girls must be able to express their views on the future of Egypt and protest against the government without being detained, tortured, or subjected to profoundly degrading and discriminatory treatment," : That the main point in this article and what I want to be saying. Regardless of the gender and sex, all of the people have their own right and express their opinions. If something control this right, that society is not different from wild.

    2. High school students shun German, French, Spanish
    3. Most high schools in Seoul teach Chinese or Japanese, or both, as a second foreign language, shying away from other more exotic languages, as fluency in either of the two Asian languages could be more helpful to students in finding a job. … He also expressed concerns that the country’s foreign language education system leans too much toward English, Chinese and Japanese, stressing the government should encourage schools to teach other widely-spoken tongues, such as Spanish, Russian, Arabic and Hindi, as Korea establishes closer political and economic relations with countries speaking these languages.
    --------------------------------------
    4. I think schools should provide more diverse language courses because not everyone wants to study Chinese or Japanese. Also, Koreans always tend to follow the bigger group, the majority because they don’t want to look different or weird. Therefore, even if some students want to learn exotic languages other than Japanese or Chinese, they just don’t complain and follow what other people do. Most of Korean students are shy and not willing to express their opinions, so I think the government should be aware of this characteristic of Korean students and pursue a variety of foreign languages. Even if only a few number of students take exotic language courses such as Arabic or Russian, schools should respect the minority of the students’ second language preferences and still provide them those classes. Furthermore, I think students should choose what they want to choose instead of listening to what other people say or following what other people do. What’s more, students should practice to do what they want to do instead of giving up because of worrying about and thinking about getting a better job in the future. In my opinnion, they should do what they want to do now and try everything while they are young.

2.In japan, Children's Day is distinguished by Gender
    3. Children's Day is different in each country.
In Japan, the Children's Day also exists. But the day of boys and girls separated.
the Japanese Children's Day May 5 is the same with us. Interestingly,
male and female children have to divide the memorial. May 5 days in Japanese dangonosetku (端午 の 節句) among boys, the public holiday.
For Japan's Women's Children's Day is March 3. Hina Matsuri (ひな まつり) is not the holiday.

4.Today we think that many gender discriminations are relieved. However Women's right is limited in scope. In Korea, The parents' day was decided 3rd March 1973. Before then, Mother's day existed from 1956.Could the opposite happen ? For Children, the public holiday means many
an important matter- close a school etc. An young girl in Japan may ask to her mom, 'Why the girl's children's day isn't holiday?'

    2. Americans’ ignorance
    3. This article says that many Americans couldn’t answer the questions like naming Vice President ‘Joe Biden’ and why people fought for the Cold War etc... which was a basic questions for U.S. citizenship. This kind of phenomenon is called as ‘Americans ignorance’ on the article and fundamental reason for this was highest levels of income inequality as well as an ineffective education policy. Also unlike Denmark, in America there are lot of very poor people without access to good education and a huge immigrant population that doesn’t even speak English
    ----------------------------------
    4. Americans ‘ignorance’ has been reported in a different poll. In March 2009, the European Journal of Communication asked citizens of Britain, Denmark, Finland, and the U.S. to answer questions on international affairs.
As low as 58 percent of Americans could identify the Taliban even though they’ve led the charge in Afghanistan, compared to high at 76 percent in Finland, 75 percent in Britain and 68 percent in Denmark.
In contrast, the American system is a tangle of different levels of power. “Nobody is able to understand it all, which you realize every time you vote,” says Michael Schudson, author of The Good Citizen. “This discourages you from learning more.”

    2. elites vs elites
    3. Some politicians use the slogans that” no child left “which is included in the federal law 2002 and” to improve the equality of education “to cut down the teachers wages and even make them lose their job .In fact these actions the politicians take are the competitions among different elites. The politicians want to use the sacrifice of the teachers to reduce the financial expenditure to reduce the financial burden of the government, and to gain the citizens who act as the role of parents`favor of their political career as well. it is obvious that the reasons of low equality of the education in America these days are various which means the quality of teachers is only one of them. But the politicians just judge it on one dimension, and it is really not fair .as we all know the politicians and teachers are all elites in different areas ,but the truth is that politicians are much more powerful than the teachers as well ,which means teachers will become the casualty of the game .

    4. With states and cities going through hard times, teachers, their pensions and their unions have become big targets for budget cutters. Lawmakers in some states are trying to change teacher tenure rules and school districts are laying off teachers by the thousands. In public debate and private conversations, teachers have come under increasing criticism for being ineffective and overpaid. Yet not long ago, education reform efforts sought to elevate the prestige and pay of teachers as a key to improving achievement in the classrooms.

    2. Third-generation succession begins at Samsung
    3. As we can see in this article inequality itself produces inequality. The succession of Samsung runs inside the family just like the well known brand Hermes has so far. There maybe position changes in the middle and bottom class, but it is very unlikely that the top class will change because of the succession that runs in the family. It may not be a succession of a company, it could be a succession of school. It is likely that the succession of some sort that runs in a family will never end.
    ---------------------
    4. The founding family of Samsung Group yesterday strengthened its grip on Korea’s biggest conglomerate by proceeding with a third-generation transfer of power as the son and daughter of Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Kun-hee were named to key posts in the industrial empire.
Jay Y. Lee, 42, the chairman’s only son, was appointed president of Samsung Electronics, the group’s flagship company.
His sister, Lee Boo-jin, 40, was selected as president of Samsung Everland, the group’s de facto holding company, as well as chief executive of Hotel Shilla Co., a Samsung affiliate, and as adviser to Samsung C&T Corp.

    2. Cyberspace tainted with racist postings
    3. These days internet technology is well organized. By this we can communicate with other countries people easily. The problem is that easy way of contact makes racial conflict. Especailly on Korean internet site there are many dicrimative metion. Then foreiners who saw this kind of message think bad of Korea. As a result this leads to racial conflict and social straticfiation. Korea is now one of developed countries. However this kind of problem shed that Korea is not developed about neticket. By this reason we have to change our behaviors on the internet.
    --------------------------
    4. Looking at Internet cafes with many messages disparaging migrant workers based on their appearances and nationalities, Soe Moe Thu feels Korea still has a long way to go to establish a “mature” online culture.
To maintain the country’s reputation for state-of-the-art Internet infrastructure, the Seoul government needs to make more efforts to ameliorate “online manners,” the 36-year-old Myanmarese said.
